The activities staff came in everyday to make sure I was okay and offered me to join them in their events. It was easy for me to work with everyone. They matched my time frame and even when they were busy they were on top of the patients.
She had a private room which was nice and it appeared very clean. But it was definitely old and the place needs updating. It’s tired looking and it’s kind of smelly; and that was the other thing I didn’t like about the place. It was well kept, and they seemed to be on top of everything there.
My Mom was here for 3 weeks in the rehab facility. This rehab was a complete disaster. My Mom was neglected, made to feel like she was crazy and was absolutely filthy. She was at Cadbury to regain her strength after she had a long hospital stay.

She gave me some great pointers, and answered all of my questions. Initially when I arrived, my first impression was that the building was a little outdated. I met with the Admissions, Christine. Both her, and the receptionist, are very welcoming. I saw the rooms on the short term rehab side, the PT/OT gym, the nurses station. The building had none of those "smells" that you usually have in these places.
The furniture was really old, but other than that it was clean, and it wasn’t bad at all. I think the people who are there for rehab and going home have private rooms, but if you are there for long-term care, you’d have a roommate. Visitation was you could just walk in and go to their room whenever you like. When COVID hit they shut everything down, but leading up to COVID you could just walk in whenever you want to visit, and you have to sign in on a book. If you would want to take them out for a visit, you’d have a certain time to take them back, and you have to sign them in and out in a book.
Encrore at Turf Valley is top notch. The staff was wonderful, very caring, answered the questions we had, and very knowledgeable about what they do. The dining area looked nice and very upscale. The facility is beautiful and well maintained. Poor recommendation to vulnerable folks. Will begin looking to transfer to a more capable place to handle our needs. The facility and amenities are clean and comfortable.
I wish I could rate this in the negatives!!! My Mom was fine when she was admitted on Christmas Eve for rehab for a broken hip. When I went to visit her on Christmas Day she was almost catatonic, NAKED and COVERED IN FECES. On Christmas Day of all days!! You would think the staff would be expecting visitors! There are 3 nursing homes in Ellicott City, MD and 6 nursing homes nearby. Beautiful grounds and wonderful staff.
